Make a night of it at the Cape Times/V&A Waterfront Whisky Festival!

WHISKY FRENZY RETURNS TO THE WATERFRONT

Following on from the overwhelming success of the inaugural Whisky Festival held last year, the event returns to the V&A Waterfront with a new name, a new venue and an even greater offering of whisky taste experiences.

Diarise 20-22nd October for the second annual Cape Times Whisky Live Festival which will be held on the water's edge at North Wharf, V&A Waterfront – a stunning setting with ample parking, close proximity to the Cape's only whisky bar (Bascule) and right adjacent to the Aquarium, the host venue for this year's Whisky Workshops. Whisky Live Festival now forms part of a global circuit of internationally renowned whisky festivals and will host two back-to-back events in South Africa, premiering in Johannesburg at the Nelson Mandela Square from 13-15 th October.

So make a night of it and join us at North Wharf from 6pm each evening. Over 120 unique whiskies will be on offer for sampling, together with a host of like-minded products, such as cheese, sushi, chocolates, coffees and cigars. International distillers, global brand ambassadors, whisky writers and flamboyant whisky personalities will be sharing their passion for this remarkable drink. North Wharf will be the meeting point for the Irish, the Americans, the Scottish and the South Africans – loads of after parties, restaurant promotions and fabulous whisky giveaways. Make up a party and book at the Cape Grace for a whisky dinner, join a master distiller for an informal workshop or just savour the whisky lifestyle experience and “discover the mystery”.

The Cape Times Whisky Live Festival will provide an experiential, entertaining and educational platform for both whisky novices and whisky connoisseurs to understand, appreciate and enjoy the whisky lifestyle. A high tech glass paneled marquee will be transformed into a contemporary tasting hall where the public can travel the whisky trails of the world, mingle with the experts from the world of whisky and be exposed to whiskies rarely seen and almost never previously available to sample in South Africa. Special whisky collections will be on sale at special festival prices.
